I started my PhD in March of 2019. I work in close collaboration with Winclove probiotics, a probiotic company.

Together, we're investigating the effect of probiotic intervention on the bacterial interplay within a simplified, synthetic, small intestinal community and vice versa.

Therefore, we apply and combine fermentation parameters, abundance data and metabolomics data to build metabolic interaction networks.

The same methods are combined with complex samples, to extrapolate the findings to investigate, understand and develop probiotic interventions in a clinical setting.
